Shadow Days October -December
Eighth  grade students interested in applying for admission are encouraged to spend a "Shadow Day" at Mount de Sales prior to taking the admissions test. Each guest will have a hostess whose schedule she will follow.  Attending classes and meeting students, faculty and staff enable the prospective student to experience firsthand the joy of being part of the Mount de Sales family.  Arrangements may be made by calling the Admissions Office.

Open House
In November of each year, Mount de Sales Academy hosts an Open House for middle school aged students and their families.  Families are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to tour the school, and to speak with faculty, staff, students and their parents as well as with alumnae.

Admissions Procedures
Any student wishing to enter the incoming freshman class must:

1. Take the Archdiocesan High School Placement Test given in December. (If a student is ill on the testing date, her parent/guardian should contact the admissions Office on the following Monday for information concerning a make-up date.)

2. Submit the Mount de Sales application for admission and application fee by the announced deadline.

3. Students attending Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Baltimore must also complete the Archdiocesan High School Form authorizing their current school to submit for review their elementary/middle school transcript, standardized test scores, and teacher recommendation. (Students attending all other schools must complete a similar form which can be obtained from the Mount de Sales Academy Admissions office.)

4.  Prospective students and parents have an interview with a member of the Mount de Sales Academy staff or faculty.

Admissions Criteria
