Reverend Robert W. Duerr Scholarships
Three scholarships each year are awarded to incoming freshmen. Applicants for admission are considered for these scholarships based on their ranking in the Archdiocesan Admissions/Placement/Scholarship Test given in December of their eighth grade year. The recipients are those achieving the top three scores among those applicants recommended for acceptance by the Mount de Sales Academy Admissions Committee. These scholarships are renewable if the recipient maintains a cumulative average of at least 86% (3.0 GPA). If a student's cumulative average slips below this level, then her scholarship is terminated and cannot be renewed.
Art Scholarships
Two art scholarships worth $500 each year are awarded to incoming freshmen. To be considered for these scholarships, applicants must submit a portfolio of their art work, a summary of their experience in the arts, and a letter of recommendation from their art teacher on or before the admissions application deadline. In addition, they must have maintained a "B" average for both 7th and 8th grades and be recommended for acceptance by the Mount de Sales Academy Admissions Committee. These scholarships are renewable if the recipient maintains a cumulative average of at least 86% (3.0 GPA). If a student's cumulative average slips below this level, then her scholarship is terminated and cannot be renewed.
Music Scholarships
Two art scholarships worth $500 each year are awarded to incoming freshmen.
They are recognized for either a vocal or instrumental
scholarship. The scholarships are awarded based on an
audition consisting of a three minute musical presentation
of contrasting pieces of music which exemplify ability and
an interview. Decisions are based on difficulty of music,
dynamic contrast, articulation, intonation, tone, knowledge
of theory, confidence, stage presence and experience. These scholarships are renewable if the recipient maintains a cumulative average of at least 86% (3.0 GPA). If a student's cumulative average slips below this level, then her scholarship is terminated and cannot be renewed.
