CAPITAL CAMPAIGN - "Foundations for the Future"
At Mount de Sales Academy, our educational mission engages the whole student as we continue to seek ways to better meet students’ needs. For that reason, we have established "Foundations for the Future," a long-range plan to build athletic and performing arts facilities.

PHASE I - The Constance and Samuel Pistorio Sports Complex
The first phase of the campaign was a marked success with the dedication of the Constance and Samuel Pistorio Sports Complex on October 11, 1998 by William Cardinal Keeler. This beautiful building is one of the finest secondary school athletic facilities in Maryland.

The facility is modeled after the academy’s historic buildings and is situated across an open air piazza from the main building and the recently renovated Infirmary. As patron of the Capital Campaign, St. Joseph the Worker is represented in the piazza in a life-size bronze statue by Baltimore sculptor Joseph Vogelsang.

The building itself features home and visitor locker rooms, a fully-equipped health education classroom, athletic offices, ticket office, rest room facilities, and a concession stand with full kitchen.

The gymnasium seats 500 people in handicapped-accessible bleachers. The basketball court, which bears the academy name and the Sailors' anchor emblem, also accommodates volleyball courts.

The glass-enclosed fitness center at the far end of the gymnasium features life-cycles, stair masters, free weights, and a 12-station universal device for upper and lower body work-outs.

Other highlights include a powerful sound system and two beautiful stained glass windows by Baltimore artist Cheryl Brant. The windows feature the academy logo of the Madonna and Child and the shield of the Dominican Order.

PHASE II - Proposed Academic Performing Arts Center
Funds now are being sought for the second phase of the campaign, an Academic Performing Arts Center. The facility will include a theater-auditorium, as well as specialized classrooms for the academy's choral and performing arts courses. It will enable our growing student body to participate more fully in activities such as dramatic and musical theater productions, musical performances, drama and performing arts classes, and forensic and debate events.

In addition, students will be able to stage assemblies, special events, and convocation exercises that are a necessary component of a comprehensive Catholic education.

To make this dream a reality, we now turn to you for your generous support.

YOUR GIFT WILL MAKE THIS HAPPEN!
Pledges toward the successful completion of the Capital Campaign may be made in one lump sum or over a three to five year period. Your support will help the academy meet the changing needs of its students, and will be multiplied in the lives of hundreds of deserving young women well into the future.
