In the belief that team sports build strength, character, and pride in the individual, her team, and her school, Mount de Sales Academy offers a variety of varsity and junior varsity athletic teams, as well as some intramural teams in the following sports:

The Sailors are charter members of the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland which is made up of over 30 private schools and is recognized among the very top high school athletic conferences in Metropolitan Baltimore. Overall Mount de Sales has been recognized for many individual athlete and team accomplishments.

Basketball, soccer, and lacrosse camps are held at Mount de Sales Academy each summer and the school hosts the Annual Friendship Lacrosse Tournament in the spring.

Mount de Sales Academy graduates have won college athletic scholarships to schools such as Drexel University, Fairfield University, George Mason University, George Washington University, Georgetown University, Mount St. Mary's College, the University of Delaware, and the University of South Carolina, James Madison, and Vanderbilt.

The Mount de Sales Academy curriculum meets the guidelines established by the NCAA for students who wish to compete for NCAA colleges.

In addition to varsity and junior varsity level sports, students have the opportunity to play intramural volleyball and field hockey.
